Pastport · Privacy

Pastport privacy.

Pastport is a private travel atlas that stays on your device. It has no account, no cloud copy, no analytics or advertising, and no app-initiated network service.

Overview

The short version.

Your places, trips, memories, unfinished drafts, and private photo copies stay on your device. Nothing is sent to Trailmark Studios. Backups and Storybook editions are files you save or share yourself; backups do not include photo files or unfinished drafts.

What Pastport stores

Pastport keeps your atlas on this device: country marks, trips, dates, tags, notes, memories, Peach & Pit reflections, story chapters, wishlist items, and settings. On Android and iPhone it also keeps private copies of photos you attach. Pastport has no account and no cloud copy of any of this.

Unfinished memories and trips

While you write a memory or a trip, Pastport keeps your unfinished words on this device as a draft, so they survive leaving the screen or closing the app. Words typed in the last moment before the app closes can be lost. A draft is not in your Journal, your totals, or your backup files until you save it, and Pastport never saves one for you: you resume it or discard it. A draft can hold a private photo copy, which Pastport keeps while the draft exists.

Photos you choose

Pastport opens your device's photo picker only when you ask to attach a photo. It does not scan your library, use the camera or microphone, or upload the selected image. On Android and iPhone, Pastport saves a private copy of the photo you pick inside the app. It is a copy of the file as it is, so it can still carry hidden details the file already had, such as where and when it was taken; Pastport does not read those details into your memory. Removing a photo from a memory, or deleting the memory, does not delete your original photo. Pastport deletes its private copy later, once no saved memory, draft, or recent saved version of your atlas uses it; if it cannot check your drafts, it keeps the copy. In a web browser Pastport cannot keep private photo copies, so memories there have no photos.

Collection and sharing

Trailmark Studios does not collect, track, sell, or share your Pastport atlas data. Pastport includes no analytics, advertising, crash-upload, account, or app-initiated network service. System photo, file, and share surfaces act only after you choose to use them.

Backups and Storybook editions

You choose where an atlas backup or a Storybook edition goes, using your device's save or share window. Atlas backups contain your records, settings, and photo references, not the image files themselves, and they do not include unfinished drafts. Storybook editions are text only: Pastport does not put your photos into them. Pastport cannot control a file after you save or share it outside the app, so keep backups, editions, and original photos somewhere you trust. Pastport asks Android to leave its app data out of Android backups. Other device-transfer tools, and iPhone device backups, have not been tested with Pastport and may copy app data, including drafts and photo copies.

Retention and deletion

Your atlas records and unfinished drafts stay on the device until you save, edit, discard, or delete them, reset the atlas in Profile, clear Pastport's app data, or remove the app. A reset does not remove unfinished drafts; discard them separately. Pastport has no server-side copy and no account to delete. Exported files and original photos must be deleted from their chosen locations separately.

Changes and contact

If a future Pastport release changes how data is handled, this in-app policy and the public policy will be updated before that release. Privacy questions can be sent to hello@trailmarkstudios.com.

This policy covers the Pastport app. The Trailmark Studios website has its own Privacy Policy.
