How to get help.
Email is the fastest way to reach the studio. Because your words and practice live on your phone, a backup is the way to keep them safe across phones or reinstalls.

What Speech Forward needs
An Android phone or tablet running Android 7.0 or newer, and a text-to-speech engine with a voice for your language. Most phones include one (for example Speech Services by Google). Check Settings › Accessibility › Text-to-speech output.
For speech without a connection, install an offline voice for your language in that engine. Speech Forward has no server: speaking always uses your phone's own engine. That engine decides whether a voice works offline, and some voices use the engine provider's online service.
No account, and no internet connection for communication, practice, plans and conversations.
If speech stops or never starts
Your words always stay on screen. Show keeps working without speech, so you can turn the phone toward the person you are talking with.
1. Choose Try again once. If it says “Still no speech. Try reopening the app.”, the phone's speech engine is not answering.
2. Close Speech Forward completely and open it again. Your saved words and your open conversation are kept; Today offers Continue my conversation.
3. If speech is still missing, check the phone's volume and silent mode, then Settings › Accessibility › Text-to-speech output: choose an engine, install the voice data for your language, and use Play there to test it.
4. If Speech Forward says it is speaking with the phone's own voice, the voice you picked is no longer installed. Choose a voice again in Profile.
Speech Forward cannot restart the phone's speech engine by itself while it is open. Reopening the app is the supported recovery.
Back up and restore
Your words and practice live on your phone. Before you switch phones or reinstall, use Profile › Your Data › Back up my data to save a backup file you control, or choose a folder for an automatic weekly backup. Restore backup from file replaces the data on the phone with the backup, and asks before replacing anything. Microphone use and reminders are optional and can be managed in the app and your device settings.

Response times
Trailmark Studios is a small, independent studio. We aim to reply within a few business days. Around betas and launches it can take a little longer, but we read every message.
