MusicSense privacy.
MusicSense has accounts and syncs your music work to the cloud so it is available across your devices and to collaborators you invite. This policy explains what it collects, why, and the controls you have.
Overview
The short version.
MusicSense stores your account and the music content you create, and syncs it so you can reach it anywhere and share it with collaborators. It uses Sentry for crash diagnostics and internal, aggregate product analytics you can switch off. You can export or delete your account data from inside the app.
Accounts
When you create an account or sign in, MusicSense stores account identifiers such as your user ID, email address, display name, and profile preferences.
Your music content
MusicSense stores the content you create in the app: songs, sections, chord progressions, lyrics, notes, bass lines, tabs, practice logs, favorites, comments, collaborator records, and invitations. This content syncs to your account so it is available across your devices and to collaborators you invite.
Audio and microphone
MusicSense requests microphone access for the tuner, recorder, and related audio tools. Recordings you make in the recorder stay on your device unless you explicitly share or export them.
Camera
MusicSense requests camera access only for profile-picture features, where available.
Crash and diagnostic data
MusicSense uses Sentry to collect crash reports, error diagnostics, app and device information, and non-sensitive breadcrumbs that help us fix problems. These diagnostics are not designed to include your lyrics, notes, comments, invite tokens, or exported file contents.
Product analytics
MusicSense uses internal product analytics to understand which features are used and where to improve. Events are aggregate usage metadata — for example, metronome settings, play-along options, bass-line counts, and export counts. They do not include song titles, lyrics, notes, comments, chord text you enter, emails, invite tokens, or exported files.
You can turn Product Analytics off in Settings › Data.
How your data is used
MusicSense uses this data to provide account access and sync, store and restore your content, enable collaboration and invitations, run the tuner, metronome, recorder, play-along, bass-line, and tab tools, export your content when you ask, respond to deletion and support requests, diagnose crashes, and understand aggregate feature usage.
Sharing
MusicSense does not sell your data. It relies on third-party infrastructure to run: Supabase for authentication and database, and Sentry for crash reporting. Your content is shared with other people only when you invite a collaborator or grant them access.
Export and deletion
You can export your account data as a JSON file from Settings › Data. You can request account deletion from Settings › Data; deletion is processed by a privileged backend worker and removes your account and associated records where technically and legally possible. Some logs, backups, or records required for security or legal compliance may be retained for a limited period.
Security
MusicSense uses Supabase row-level security so each account's records are isolated, and privileged server operations use credentials that are not shipped in the mobile app. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we use reasonable measures to protect your data.
Children
MusicSense is not intended for children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will help.
International use
Your data may be processed in countries where MusicSense's infrastructure providers operate, which may be outside your own country or region.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as MusicSense changes, and will revise the date below when we do. For privacy, data export, or deletion questions, email hello@trailmarkstudios.com.
